Job summary

Aspire People are urgently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants to support Further Education Colleges and Post-16 provisions across South Wales. With immediate vacancies available, we're looking for caring, proactive individuals who are ready to start as soon as possible and help learners build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

These roles offer flexible full-time and part-time opportunities with excellent hourly rates (£16.11–£25) and a £100 sign-up bonus after 20 days of work.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with ALN/SEN in FE or college settings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to obtain or maintain EWC registration.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with ALN, SEN, SEMH on 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assist lecturers to deliver inclusive learning across courses.
• Use positive behaviour management to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Be patient, adaptable and resilient; FE/post-16 experience desirable.

About You & The Role

• Support learners with ALN, SEN, SEMH, and complex needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within college and post-16 settings.
• Work alongside Lecturers to deliver inclusive learning, helping students access academic, vocational, and practical courses while promoting independence and confidence.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
• Bring experience from education, youth work, care, support work, or a similar background, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Be patient, adaptable, and resilient. FE, college, post-16, or school experience is desirable, and EWC registration (or willingness to obtain) is required.
