TeacherActive is supporting a mainstream FE college in Warwickshire by recruiting a part-time Core Fashion Teacher for an immediate start. You will guide Level 2 learners through tutorials, practical classes and interventions, using a provided scheme of work and collaborating with the Head of School on progress and attendance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Fashion and Textiles or equivalent.

• Confident sewing machine use and ability to teach core Fashion Design and Construction to Level 2.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Core Fashion Teacher

Salary: £25 - £32 per hour

Are you a creative and experienced Core Fashion Teacher looking for a new opportunity within a thriving FE college?

Do you have strong Fashion Design and Construction skills, including confident sewing machine use?

Are you passionate about supporting 16-19 learners to develop their practical Fashion skills and knowledge?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream FE college based in Warwickshire. The college provides high standards of education and has recently been awarded a 'Good' OFSTED rating. This thriving, modern and diverse place to study offers opportunities both inside and outside of lessons to promote student engagement, helping young people to flourish both academically and personally.

The college is looking to take on a part time Core Fashion Teacher for an immediate start, providing temporary Study Programme Manager cover. The successful Core Fashion Teacher will support Level 2 Fashion students through academic tutorials and 1:1 sessions, deliver PDU tutorials using a provided scheme of work, and design and deliver practical Fashion classes. You will also liaise with the Head of School regarding attendance, progress and learner interventions where required.

The successful Core Fashion Teacher will have:

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Fashion and Textiles preferred, or an Art background with extensive Fashion experience
• Experience teaching Fashion at Level 2, with UAL Fashion Level 3 experience desirable
• Strong Fashion Design and Construction ability
• Confident sewing machine user with the ability to demonstrate safe machine use
• Ability to teach core Fashion Design and Construction principles to Level 2 learners
• Excellent communication skills and a supportive approach to learner development
