As a Remote Interpreter, your responsibility will be to facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency. This role involves working remotely from your own location, providing interpreting services over the phone or via video calls. You will utilize your language skills to interpret conversations accurately and efficiently in various professional settings.

Please note: this is a self-employed position.

Requirements

The Job

• Interpret between English and your native language over the phone or video calls.
• Provide interpretation services to clients and customers with limited English proficiency.
• Interpret for users of legal, health, and local government services.
• Check the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence.
• Conduct conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Provide accurate, confidential, and impartial interpreting services.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

About You

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Be aged 21 or over.
• Possess formal qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration is advantageous
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
• Any other interpreting-related qualification
