As a Remote Interpreter, your main responsibility will be to facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency. You will work remotely, providing interpreting services over the phone or via video calls. You will interpret conversations accurately and efficiently, supporting various professional settings.

Please note: this is a self-employed position.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between English and your native language over phone or video calls.
• Provide interpretation services to clients with limited English proficiency.
• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services.
• Check understanding with non-English speakers after each sentence.
• Perform conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Ensure accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

About You

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Be aged 21 or over.
• Hold relevant qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
