Job summary

The Yard in Edinburgh is seeking a Family Worker to provide emotional and practical support to families with children with diverse needs. You will empower families to understand and access external services and work to ensure they receive the right help when needed.

The role is 37 hours per week, with a salary around £26,262–£29,052 per year, and a benefits package including pension, health care cash back plan, training opportunities, and other employee support services.

As our Family Worker you will provide emotional and practical support to families with children with a wide range of additional support needs, empowering them to understand and access the support available to them from external services.

The Family Worker role is essential in ensuring that families using The Yard and Edinburgh Disability and Neurodivergence Hub (EDAN) services get the right help when they need it most.

This job is for you if you have:

• experience of working with children and young people with a range of disabilities and additional support needs
• excellent relationship building skills
• knowledge of children's rights, trauma informed and inclusive practices
• an understanding of child and adult protection practices
• excellent organisational skills and administrative abilities
