Job summary

Shared Services Partnership is seeking a Family Practitioner to support children and families within Hampshire County Council. The role involves managing a varied caseload, delivering tailored interventions, and working with Social Workers to develop family plans that prioritise children’s needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, young people, and families.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Skilled in mediation and managing challenging situations.
• Ability to produce clear reports and use IT systems confidently.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children, parents, and carers to provide practical and emotional support.
• Arrange resources and help families access services such as transport, care, and housing.
• Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with professionals.
• Use mediation and negotiation skills to improve family relationships.
• Undertake assessments and Children in Need visits alongside Social Workers.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate records.
