Job summary

The City of Wolverhampton Council is inviting applications for a Family Time Facilitator based at the Connecting Families Hub in Wolverhampton. The role involves delivering intensive support to families in crisis, planning and supervising family time, and coordinating with social workers to ensure safe, high‑quality family interactions.

Applicants should have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent and at least level 2 in English and Maths; experience working with children and families is preferred.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Education, Health or Social Care, Community Development or a Diploma in Youth & Community Work.
  • English and Maths or equivalent to level 2 of the National Qualification Framework.
  • Previous experience working with children, young people and families preferred.

Key Information

Title: Family Time Facilitator – Based at the Connecting Families Hub.
Salary: £30,024 – £33,699 (Grade 5)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Saturdays on rota
Contract: Full time, Fixed Term Contract until February 2027.

Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive service to families in crisis and planned interventions for children and young people.
  • Plan, supervise and assess family time between children and parents or extended family to achieve high quality, safe family time.
  • Work to change behaviours and rehabilitate individuals while ensuring health and safety and security of children and their families.
  • Collaborate closely with social workers and other professionals in a multi‑agency context for coordinated casework planning.
