Job summary

Dame Ellen Pinsent School is seeking a part-time Family Support Worker four days a week to help pupils and families. The role focuses on early help, coordinating interventions and safeguarding, with a strong emphasis on attendance and wellbeing.

You will work with school staff and external partners, provide guidance to families, and support a Team Around the Child approach to secure positive outcomes for pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, families or within education, social care, youth work or community services.
• Enhanced DBS check with child and adult barred list checks.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support families through early help processes
• Manage children's medication
• Improve pupil attendance and punctuality
• Engage families and build strong relationships with them
• Coordinate interventions that promote positive outcomes for pupils
• Provide guidance and signposting to support services
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to support pupil wellbeing and success
• Work closely with children, families, school staff and external agencies
