Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain seeks a dedicated Family Support Worker to join a Glasgow-based service that supports families for up to 12 months. The role involves direct work with families, home visits, and evenings/weekends as needed within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience with child and adult protection is required, and PVG scheme checks apply. The post is permanent with a requirement to work across multiple Glasgow locations.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable families to assess needs and deliver support interventions.
• Willingness to work across Glasgow locations and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with families to nurture relationships and build on strengths.
• Assess the needs of vulnerable families and plan, deliver and evaluate interventions.
• Support children and families to build skills and confidence.
• Strengthen families' connections to their local community.
• Empower families to lead positive change in their lives.
• Provide support in evenings and weekends as required.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team for up to 12 months.
• Visit family homes, schools and community settings as needed.
