Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Family Support Worker for Aberlour's Early Intervention Family Support Service, working with children up to 12 and their families on a fixed-term contract until May 2027. Shifts include early mornings, evenings and weekends, with visits to family homes, schools and the community.

You will build strengths-based relationships, help families develop skills and confidence, and strengthen community links while working in family homes and local settings.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing strengths and needs of vulnerable families.
• Experience planning, delivering and evaluating family interventions.
• Experience with child and adult protection issues.
• Experience supporting families impacted by domestic abuse, mental health or substance misuse.
• PVG Scheme check

Responsibilities

• Build person-centred relationships with families using a strengths-based approach.
• Work with families to develop skills, confidence and community links.
• Visit family homes, schools and community settings.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate interventions that help families thrive.
• Provide evening, weekend and early morning support.
