Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families? Were looking for compassionate, reliable, and flexible individuals to join our team as Ad Hoc Family Support Workers.

This role offers total flexibility around your availability ideal for students or anyone wanting to earn around their existing commitments.

Duties

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to families during challenging times
  • Advocate on behalf of families to ensure they receive the necessary services
  • Conduct home visits to monitor and support family progress
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records
  • Collaborate with other social service agencies and professionals
  • Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution services
  • Help families develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills

Skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable children and young people is essential
  • Strong knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care principles
  • Empathy and compassion towards families in need of support
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex family situations
  • Ability to supervise family time and manage behaviours in a supportive, non-judgmental way
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with families and professionals
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Good organisational and time management skills to manage multiple cases effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid drivers licence and access to reliable transport you will be required to transport children and young people
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
  • Awareness of and connection to local community resources and services
