Job summary

Nova Hire Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Children and Young People’s Services team in the community and family homes across the area. You will work alongside Social Workers to provide practical and emotional support to children, young people and families.

The role involves home visits, creating care plans, and delivering targeted interventions to improve outcomes. Flexibility includes some evenings and weekends to meet family needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Good safeguarding knowledge and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support Social Workers with assessments, care planning and case management.
• Provide practical, hands-on support and targeted interventions to families.
• Build positive relationships with families who may be difficult to engage.
• Undertake home visits and work intensively with families to improve outcomes.
• Facilitate and supervise Family Time/contact sessions, including some evenings and weekends.
• Ensure the voice, wishes and feelings of children are heard and reflected in support plans.
• Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports for meetings, reviews and court where required.
• Work closely with Social Workers, schools, health, Police and other partner agencies.
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and challenging situations.
