Due to an influx of work, an opportunity has arisen to join one of the leading law firms in Cornwall and Devon as a Solicitor in the family department.
What you will do:
This role will focus mainly on the area of private and public law children work, but also includes the opportunity to undertake a broader variety of work and to develop skills across the whole area of the family team’s specialism.
This vacancy offers an excellent opportunity for a two year PQE+ Solicitor to build on an existing desk with secretarial support.
In addition to routine case work, the successful candidate will be expected to drive forward business development opportunities and contribute to department performance by supporting initiatives to take the practice into the future.
The successful candidate must be able to travel to enable attendance at court as well as occasionally meeting with colleagues and clients at our other offices.
About you:
The successful candidate will be efficient and have a good level of knowledge and understanding of private and public law children law and practice. You will understand the need to work to deadlines, how to prioritise work and meet the standards expected by the court. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and to strict timescales.
You will be adaptable, flexible, and ready to work collaboratively as part of an experienced, supportive, and friendly team.

Ideally Truro, although we are open to discussion regarding which of our eight locations best suits you. In addition to our offices, the firm aims to enable as many staff as possible to incorporate an element of remote work into their working week if they so wish.
Hours:
This is a full-time position. 35 hours a week Monday to Friday; however, we welcome applications from candidates looking for alternative working arrangements.
