Job summary

Gerrard White Consulting in Bishop’s Stortford is seeking a Family Law Solicitor to join an award-winning team. You will manage a varied private family law caseload and support senior fee earners while developing your own practice.

You’ll also play an active role in business development, representing the firm at internal and external events. The role suits a solicitor with a proven track record and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years PQE in family law required or equivalent.
• Experience across divorce, financial proceedings, and private Children Act work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience running a caseload is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to participate in business development and events.
• Running your own caseload is desirable but not essential.
• Advocacy experience would be an advantage.
• Comfortable representing the firm at networking and client events.

The role

As a Family Law Solicitor in the team, you will:

• Handle an interesting and varied caseload covering all aspects of private family law
• Support senior fee earners while developing your own practice
• Play an active part in business development, representing the firm and raising your own profile at internal and external events

About you

• 2+ years PQE - Solicitor or Legal Executive
• Trained and practised in a well-regarded family department
• Experience across divorce, financial proceedings, emergency injunctions, private Children Act applications, pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation work, including Schedule 1 applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience supporting senior fee earners
• Experience running your own caseload is desirable but not essential
• Advocacy experience would be an advantage
• Comfortable representing the firm at networking and client events
