Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Family Approach Nurse/Practitioner to embed a Family Approach to Safeguarding on the Isle of Wight. You will provide specialist safeguarding advice, supervision, and practice support to NHS staff, while championing a whole-family approach across services to protect children and adults.

You will work with health, social care and education teams to identify risks, contribute to complex safeguarding

Qualifications

• Registered professional on Part 1 of the NMC Register (or equivalent qualification).
• Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Teaching and assessment qualification.
• Evidence of specialist safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist safeguarding advice, support, and supervision to NHS staff.
• Champion a whole-family approach to safeguarding.
• Support practitioners to identify, assess, manage, and upscale safeguarding concerns.
• Contribute to safeguarding enquiries and review processes (Section 42, SARs, DARDRs).
• Represent health services at multi-agency meetings (MARAC).
• Deliver safeguarding training across the organisation.
• Identify emerging themes and lessons learned to improve practice and services.
• Collaborate across health, social care, police, education and voluntary sectors.
