Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Practitioner to join the Safeguarding Support team. The role supports embedding a family-focused safeguarding approach across the Trust and hub model, delivering daily guidance to staff across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will provide expert advice, deliver safeguarding training, contribute to safeguarding reviews, and work in a multiagency environment to ensure high-quality safeguarding practice

Qualifications

• Registered professional on Part 1 of the NMC Register (Nursing/Midwifery Council) or relevant allied health qualification.
• Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Teaching and assessment qualification.
• Evidence of specialist safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Named Nurse/Professional and safeguarding specialists to deliver a family-focused safeguarding approach.
• Contribute to safeguarding training across the Trust and prepare staff training sessions.
• Support completion of safeguarding reviews (internal/external) including CSPR, DARDR, Adult safeguarding reviews.
• Provide expert safeguarding advice and supervision, and work in a multi-agency environment to coordinate safeguarding practice.
