The role offers hands-on experience across divorce, financial remedy, private children matters, and domestic abuse cases, with clear progression towards a training contract or qualification. Salary £25,000-£33,000 depending on experience; full-time, permanent.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong IT skills and experience with case management systems.
• A law degree (LLB) or LPC/SQE is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience in family law as a paralegal or legal assistant is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting solicitors with a varied caseload of family law matters, including:
• Divorce and separation
• Financial remedy proceedings
• Private children matters
• Domestic abuse cases
• Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles
• Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner
• Attending client meetings and taking detailed instructions
• Managing files and ensuring compliance with SRA and internal procedures
• Supporting fee earners to progress matters efficiently and maintain high client care standards

About You

• Previous experience working within family law as a paralegal or legal assistant is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of family law procedures and documentation
