Job summary

Oasis Academy Mayfield is seeking a dedicated Family Liaison Officer to support students experiencing EBSA and their families. You will work with academy staff and external agencies to provide targeted interventions, pastoral support and reintegration planning within the Attendance Team.

You will build positive relationships, deliver bespoke support, and contribute to improving attendance and wellbeing, aligning with safeguarding and SEND requirements.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience in pastoral, family support, education, youth work or community-based role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and attendance processes.
  • Experience building relationships with children, young people and families.
  • Effective communication with parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Good IT skills with accurate records and reports.
  • Understanding of SEND and attendance barriers.
  • Demonstrated empathy, resilience and discretion with sensitive situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Support students experiencing EBSA through mentoring and attendance interventions.
  • Develop partnerships between academy, families and external services.
  • Deliver targeted interventions, breakfast clubs and small-group support.
  • Assist parents and carers to engage with education positively.
  • Signpost and advocate for families needing extra support.
  • Collaborate with attendance, safeguarding, SEND and inclusion teams.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to attendance improvement strategies.
  • Support induction of new students and families into the academy.
