The Family Law Company are recruiting a Family Lawyer to join the South West’s leading specialist family law firm, with offices in Truro, Plymouth or Exeter.

You will handle Domestic Abuse and Children cases, manage your own caseload, be supported by mentoring and strong tech infrastructure, and enjoy flexible working arrangements to balance work and life.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2–3 years PQE.
• Experience in family law.
• Experience with legal aid is essential.
• Client focused and able to manage own caseload.

Responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Family Lawyer to be a part of the South West’s leading and largest specialist Family Law firm.

About The Role

Working as part of the team in either our Truro, Plymouth or Exeter offices, you will be experienced in Domestic Abuse and Children cases. You will manage your own case load of mainly legal aid and some private work, oversee other lawyers’ files when they are on holiday, sick, or need support, ensure that diary dates are observed and deadlines met and of course meet all relevant quality and professional standards.

We have invested and continue to invest in business development and marketing and there will be opportunities to have an active role in various initiatives.

With significant technology investment you will carry out your role backed by good case management software and home working equipment. In addition to technological support you will be well supported by support staff, levels of supervision and a mentoring programme.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will:

• Be a qualified legal professional Solicitor or Legal Executive. 2 – 3 years PQE
• Have experience of managing family law cases.
• Be client focused.
• Be used to working with case management systems.
• Have experience of conducting own advocacy or attending Court with Counsel where appropriate.
• Be confident, caring and helpful attitude towards colleagues and clients.
• Have commercial awareness of needs of the business and your role within it.
• Have a passion for access to justice.
• Experience of legal aid is essential.
