Warrington Borough Council is seeking Family Hub Practitioners to support children and families through early intervention services. This role involves providing direct support, collaborating with various agencies, and engaging with families in community settings. Warrington Borough Council are recruiting for Family Hub Practitioners to provide support to children, young people and their families through the delivery of timely and inclusive early intervention and prevention services to improve outcomes through the integrated Family Hub model. The Family Hub Practitioner role is critical to offering the 0-2 Start for life and wider family hub offer.
There are 4x posts that we a looking to recruit to, 3x are permanent and 1x is fixed term until 01 July 2026.
The Family Hub Practitioner plays a vital role in supporting children, young people, and families through early intervention and community-based services. Their key responsibilities typically include: Providing direct support – Offering one-to-one and group-based assistance to families, covering areas such as infant feeding, early learning, perinatal mental health, and parenting; Acting as a key contact – Guiding families towards appropriate support services, particularly those in need; Working in outreach settings – Engaging with families in the family hubs and also in various locations, including home visits, schools, and community venues; Collaborating with multi-agency providers – Partnering with schools, health visitors, midwives, and other organisations to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families; Encouraging digital engagement – Supporting families in accessing online resources and virtual services; Facilitating peer support groups – Organising and leading group sessions to help families build networks and share experiences; Delivering parenting programs – Providing structured interventions to strengthen parenting skills and improve child development; Using a whole-family approach – Ensuring that support is tailored to the needs of the entire family, sometimes requiring flexible working hours, including evenings and weekend
We are looking for people who have experience of working directly with children and families, experience of planning and delivering high quality interventions to support children's learning and development and working in an holistic and whole family model.
