Job summary

Devon County Council is seeking 4 Family Hub Navigators to join the Best Start in Life initiative. The role focuses on early help for families with children from pregnancy to age 5 and includes cross-agency collaboration across health, education and community sectors.

These fixed-term posts offer flexible or hybrid working patterns and opportunities to shape Devon's Family Hubs network across three localities. Informal chats can be arranged via the listed contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Be the local Early Help expert and champion Devon's Best Start in Life offer for babies, children and families from pregnancy to age 5.
  • Help shape and strengthen the wider Best Start Family Hubs offer for children and young people up to 25 (SEND).
  • Connect families, professionals and communities to ensure timely support across health, education and children's services.
  • Strengthen partnerships, support practitioners, champion family voice and develop an integrated Family Hubs network.

Devon's Best Start Family Hubs are transforming how families access help. As part of our ambitious Best Start in Life vision, we're bringing together services, communities and resources to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive and every family can access support when they need it. We're looking for 4 enthusiastic and compassionate Family Hub Navigators to join our growing team.

The Role

You'll be the local Early Help expert, championing Devon's Best Start in Life offer for babies, children and families from pregnancy to age 5, while also helping to shape and strengthen the wider Best Start Family Hubs offer for children and young people aged 0-19, and up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working across health, education, children's services and the voluntary and community sector, you'll connect families, professionals and communities to ensure support is available at the right time. You'll strengthen partnerships, support practitioners, champion family voice, and help develop an integrated Family Hubs network that improves outcomes for children, young people and families in our local communities.

These roles are fixed term to 31/03/2029 therefore we are able to offer as a secondment opportunities if requested and approved. We have opportunities across our 3 localities (South and West, North and Mid, Exeter and East). Please tell us your first and second preferred locality when submitting your application. We will aim to appoint successful candidates to their preferred locality wherever possible, balancing this with the needs of the service and local workforce requirements.
