A leading organization in family support is seeking a dedicated leader to manage Family Hub Champion Services. This role involves overseeing a remote team, ensuring high standards of practice, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support families effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for training, performance management, and quality assurance, contributing to the success of the Portsmouth City Council Start for Life contract.
Role Purpose
To lead the effective day to day delivery of Home-Start Portsmouth’s Family Hub Champion Services in accordance with the Home-Start Governing documents, Standards and Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards. To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the ethos of Home-Start.
Location: Based across Portsmouth Family Hubs, managing staff in 5 locations
Main Responsibilities
1.Leadership and Line Management
·Lead and line manage a remote operational team of Family Hub Champions delivering the Portsmouth City Council Start for Life contract
·Ensure Family Hub Champions receive effective training, supervision, direction and opportunities for development through line management
·Undertake Family Hub Champions Performance Management in accordance with HSP’s procedure
·Promote effective and collaborative working within the Family Hub Champion Team
·Manage the operational work of the Family Hub Champion team and deploy staff resources in the most effective way
·Co-ordinate and lead team meetings and peer practice supervision
·Ensure all Home-Start Portsmouth’s policies and procedures are implemented consistently by Family Hub Champions
·Support the senior leadership team to embed HSP values and ethos into all Family Hub Champion work
2.Partnership and Collaborative Working
·Work with marketing and business support services to help them achieve their/your objectives for service delivery
·Work with HSP senior leadership team to ensure strategic objectives are met and contribute to the future success of the organisation
·Work collaboratively with external professionals to deliver the contractual requirements of the PCC Start for Life Contract and develop relationships with the wider professional community
3.Ensuring high quality support for families
·Maintain an overview of all work with families undertaken by line reports, and report this back through the line management structure
·Manage own case load of supported families, and model good practice in family support
·Ensuring support to families is of a high standard in accordance with Home-Start’s model, policies and procedures
·Monitoring the quality of delivery of courses and programmes, ensuring they are delivered in line with expectations of funders and any licencing bodies
4.Solihull Parenting Programme Delivery
·Responsible for the planning and delivery of the Solihull Parenting Programme against the commissioned plan under the Portsmouth City Council Start for Life Offer
·Coordinate and participate in the delivery of the Solihull Parenting Programme, ensuring a high quality of course delivery, administration and monitoring
5.Monitoring and Reporting
·Ensure effective use of systems and processes that support accurate data collection by the Family Hub Champion team
·Collate and analyse data and produce reports as required that clearly demonstrate impact, outcomes and value
·Ensure accurate and effective case recording by Family Hub Champions in line with HSP policy and process
6.Safeguarding
·Support the DSL to promote a culture of safeguarding among the team and ensure safeguarding policy and procedures are adhered to
7.Post Holder Authority
·Make day to day decisions regarding families, children, and staff without reference to the Head of Funding and Communications except where sign off is required
·Escalate safeguarding concerns to DSL and CEO
·In absence of Head of Funding and Communications or CEO make decisions regarding families, children, and volunteers alongside other experienced staff
The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.
