East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Family Help service in Driffield is seeking a Family Help Practitioner to work with families who have complex needs, helping them build resilience and reducing the likelihood of statutory intervention.

Based at Driffield Children’s Centre with occasional travel to Market Weighton and Bridlington, you will lead multi‑agency collaboration, deliver evidence‑based interventions, and champion trauma‑informed practice to place the voice of the child at the heart of

• Holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience delivering preventative interventions with children and families.
• Understanding of social and economic challenges affecting family outcomes.
• Ability to lead and coordinate multi‑agency support and assessments.
• Strong communication, time management and partnership working skills.
• Flexible, values‑driven and committed to ongoing professional development.

Join Our Team as a Family Help Practitioner

We’relooking for a Family Help Practitioner to join our dynamic and supportive team in the North locality of East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with families who have complex and interacting needs, helping them to build resilience, achieve positive change, and reduce the need for statutory intervention.

Driffield Children Centre will be the main base, however, there are other family hubs within the north area, including Market Weighton and Bridlington where you may be required to travel.

About the Role

As a Family Help Practitioner,you’ll:

• Be the lead professional for families, coordinating multi-agency support.
• Undertake whole-family assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans.
• Deliver a range of evidence-based interventions, including parenting programmes.
• Work flexibly across community settings, including homes, schools, and Children’s Centres.
• Promote trauma-informed practice and ensure the voice of the child is central to all work.
• Support innovation and continuous improvement within the service.

This is a frontline role where your ability to build trust, work collaboratively, and deliver impactful support will be key to achieving better outcomes for children and families.
