Job summary

Cambridge County Council is recruiting three full-time Family Group Conference Coordinators (37 hours per week) on a permanent basis. The roles cover Cambridgeshire countywide with the Hillrise Huntingdon office as the base, and flexible location discussions at interview.

You will coordinate Family Group Conferences for children in care contexts, ensuring the voices of children and families are heard and embedded in plans, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and family-led decision

Qualifications

• Experience in mediating and facilitating group meetings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full, valid driving licence with ability to travel countywide.
• Commitment to family-led planning and strengths-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and independently facilitate Family Group Conferences.
• Prepare children, young people, family members and professionals for meetings.
• Support families to develop safe, realistic and effective family-led plans.
• Use mediation, negotiation and facilitation skills to enable constructive discussions and decision-making.
• Promote and support the continued development of Family Group Conference practice across Children's Services.
• Ensure children's wishes, feelings and experiences remain central to the process.
