Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is recruiting for a full time Children's Practitioner in East Midlands. The post is in our Children’s Social Care division, delivering prevention-focused interventions to families to support safe outcomes for children.

You will work with parents and families, applying systemic and social learning approaches to strengthen relationships, resilience and safety, with the aim of enabling children to stay with or return to their family networks when safe to do so.

Qualifications

• Role is in Children's Social Care focused on prevention of family breakdown.
• Uses systemic and social learning theory to provide evidence-based interventions.
• Supports families to build relationships, resilience and safety for children.

Responsibilities

• Work with predominantly parents and families at risk of care entry or preparing for return home.
• Provide required support to families to enable children to remain or return home safely.
• Collaborate with a specialist team to deliver prevention-focused services.
