Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a Family Engagement Officer for Llangewydd Junior School in Bridgend. The role is part-time (19.5 hours per week), temporary for one year, term-time only, with a salary of £13,331–£13,770 per year.

The appointee will develop family engagement activities and work with families to improve educational outcomes. Experience in family engagement and the ability to liaise with partners are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a family engagement and learning programme (parent/carer forums, support groups, workshops and activities)
• Work with targeted families to strengthen engagement with learning, the school and wider community
• Build partnerships with parents, carers, community organisations and professional agencies
• Monitor and track attendance, identify barriers to engagement and implement suitable interventions
• Undertake home visits to support families and address attendance concerns
• Collaborate with external organisations to facilitate interventions and opportunities
• Monitor and evaluate activities to meet grant funding requirements
• Contribute to wider school initiatives and mitigate effects of child poverty on outcomes
