Job summary

Lift Clacton is recruiting a Family Liaison Officer to strengthen links between school, families and external agencies. You will support attendance, parenting, wellbeing and safeguarding, working in school and the community to improve engagement and outcomes for pupils.

You will collaborate with safeguarding and attendance professionals, using data to target support and ensure every child’s voice is heard and represented in multi‑agency planning.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent.
• Experience with motivating students and raising attendance expectations.
• Experience using data to analyse performance and inform decisions.
• Experience engaging hard to reach families, including home or community visits.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and safer recruitment in education.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with parents, carers and students, including hard to reach families.
• Identify attendance barriers and develop practical plans with families and school staff.
• Provide guidance on parenting, behaviour, wellbeing and access to local services.
• Support transitions and maintain positive engagement with school and learning.
• Represent the voice of the child to parents and school staff.
• Coordinate wellbeing interventions and use data to evaluate impact.
• Collaborate with external agencies and stay updated on local services.
• Support safeguarding by preparing reports and drafting referrals.
