Job summary

London Borough of Harrow is recruiting a dedicated Portage Home Visitor to provide early intervention and developmental support for children aged 0–4 with SEND and developmental needs.

You will work with families, early years settings and multi‑agency professionals to deliver Portage home visits, group sessions and community-based support, empowering parents to support their child’s learning and development.

Qualifications

• Comply with the council's health and safety policy and promote a positive health and safety culture.
• Promote and participate in appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate ability to converse in accurate spoken English with the public.
• Travel within Harrow to family homes, hubs, settings and venues as required.
• Role is subject to safeguarding and background-check requirements.
• Work in accordance with lone-working arrangements when undertaking home and community visits.
• Commitment to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy and implement it in job responsibilities.
