About the role

Are you an experienced marketing professional looking for your next step?

As Faculty Marketing and Recruitment Manager (Engineering), you’ll lead marketing that helps thousands of prospective students discover what makes Engineering at Imperial so distinctive and unique. You’ll manage two Faculty Marketing Officers and be a trusted partner to academic departments and central Marketing, Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions (MORA) colleagues, connecting detailed course knowledge with effective recruitment activity. Building on an established team, you’ll have room to develop new ideas and shape how our expertise improves the applicant experience and supports recruitment growth.

What you would be doing

Reporting to the Head of Faculty Marketing, you’ll lead Engineering’s marketing and recruitment plans in partnership with departments and specialist MORA teams. You’ll spend time understanding academic ambitions and student needs, then turn that understanding into clear priorities and practical activity.

  • Develop faculty and departmental marketing plans that support recruitment growth, cohort diversification and agreed institutional priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with academic and professional services colleagues, providing advice and constructive challenge informed by evidence.
  • Lead and develop your team, setting clear objectives and balancing workloads across departmental portfolios.
  • Strengthen course propositions and messaging, guiding content and campaign briefs for use across websites, communications, paid campaigns and events.
  • Work with Recruitment colleagues on regional priorities, offer-holder conversion and academic participation in recruitment activity.
  • Use market insight and recruitment data to advise on course development, portfolio positioning and realistic launch plans.
  • Manage delegated budgets and suppliers, evaluate performance and adapt activity to make the best use of available resources.
What we are looking for

You’ll enjoy working with people and have the confidence to offer clear advice, ask difficult questions and bring colleagues with you. We’re looking for:

  • Experience of developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies and campaigns, with evidence of results.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, including advising senior colleagues and securing agreement across teams with different priorities.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff, with a supportive approach and clear expectations.
  • The ability to use market research and performance data to make recommendations and improve activity.
  • Strong communication and creative judgement, including briefing content and translating complex subjects into compelling messages.
  • Experience of managing budgets, commissioning suppliers and balancing competing demands.
  • Understanding of higher education and student recruitment journeys, with curiosity about Engineering’s courses and audiences.

Your experience may come from higher education or another complex organisation. We’re interested in how you apply your marketing expertise, learn about your audiences and build relationships that help colleagues deliver together.

What we can offer you

You’ll join a developing Faculty Marketing function with colleagues across Engineering, Medicine and Natural Sciences, combining the scope to lead your faculty team with support and shared expertise. Your work will support Imperial’s mission to use science for humanity.

  • Scope to shape Engineering’s marketing approach and see your ideas put into practice.
  • The opportunity to make your mark at a university ranked 2 nd in the world and 1 st in Europe.
  • Close collaboration with academics, students and specialist marketing and recruitment colleagues.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment committed to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Benefit from hybrid working, a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 43 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).
  • Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing

This is a full-time, open-ended post.

Please note that job descriptions are not exhaustive, and you may be asked to take on additional duties that align with the key responsibilities mentioned above.
