The Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group is seeking a Factory Operative / CNC Machining Op to join a busy manufacturing operation in Rochester. The role offers permanent night shifts (after training) with a 46-hour week and a starting salary of £13.74 per hour.

You'll process components across CNC turning, CNC milling, manual turning, milling and drilling, requiring at least 2 years of CNC experience and a hands-on approach within a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

Factory Operative - Machining Nights - Mid Kent

Salary - £13.74 Per Hour

Full-Time | Permanent | 46 Hours Per Week

Monday - Thursday | 18:00 - 06:00

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Factory Operative / CNC Machining Operative to join a busy and established manufacturing operation based in Rochester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous CNC machining experience who is looking for a permanent night-shift position within a hands-on production environment.

The role will involve processing castings across a variety of machining operations, including CNC turning, CNC milling, manual turning, manual milling and drilling. A minimum of 2 years' CNC experience is required.

The Role

Working as part of the Machining team, you'll be responsible for processing components accurately and safely while maintaining high production and quality standards.

Responsibilities will include:

• Processing parts in accordance with relevant work instructions and production documentation
• Operating within a CNC and machining environment
• Supporting CNC turning and CNC milling operations
• Carrying out manual turning, milling and drilling duties
• Fettling castings using compressed-air-driven hand grinding tools
• Carrying out manual handling duties within the production environment
• Moving boxes and castings safely around the factory
• Linishing castings using an upright linishing machine when required
• Etching castings using compressed-air-driven vibro-etching equipment
• Shot blasting castings using alumina grit
• Operating a band saw where required
• Completing job cards and accurately recording work carried out
• Using touchscreen systems to record production activity
• Maintaining clean and organised working areas
• Supporting general housekeeping and 5S standards within the department

The role also involves maintaining and cleaning shot-blast extraction equipment and cabinets where required.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' CNC experience
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or machining environment
• Experience operating CNC machinery
• CNC turning and/or CNC milling experience
• Experience working with metal components or castings would be advantageous
• Comfortable carrying out practical, hands-on production work
• Good attention to detail
• Able to follow technical instructions and production documentation accurately
• Comfortable with manual handling as part of the roleReliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
• Willingness to undertake a variety of machining and finishing duties
• Comfortable working permanent night shifts following completion of training

Working Hours

Once training has been completed:

Monday - Thursday | 18:00 - 06:00
46 hours per week

Please note that successful candidates will initially complete approximately 3 months of training on the day shift:

Monday - Thursday | 06:00 - 16:30
Friday | 06:00 - 14:30
48 hours per week during training
