Job summary

Workforce Staffing is seeking a Factory Manager for its Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire operation. The role leads the production team, oversees daily factory activities and drives on-time, quality-focused delivery in a hands-on leadership capacity.

The successful candidate will manage production planning, people management, quality control and health & safety while championing continuous improvement and efficient operations on the factory floor.

Factory Manager

Are you an experienced and hands-on manufacturing professional looking for a leadership role where you can make a real impact?

We?re recruiting for a Factory Manager to join an established manufacturing business based in Moreton-in-Marsh. This is a key operational role with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the factory, leading the production team and ensuring customer orders are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to consistently high standards.

Working closely with senior management and other departments, you?ll take ownership of production planning, people management, quality, health & safety and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, proactive manager who enjoys being visible on the factory floor, leading by example and finding ways to improve productivity, efficiency and overall factory performance.

What You?ll Be Doing
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the factory and production team
  • Planning and coordinating production to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines
  • Allocating labour, machinery and resources effectively
  • Leading, motivating and developing the production team
  • Monitoring productivity and identifying opportunities to improve output and efficiency
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of quality and workmanship
  • Ensuring quality-control procedures are followed throughout production
  • Taking ownership of factory health & safety and safe working practices
  • Identifying and resolving production bottlenecks and capacity issues
  • Reducing waste, rework, downtime and unnecessary manufacturing costs
  • Coordinating with purchasing and stores to ensure materials and components are available when required
  • Ensuring machinery, equipment and the factory environment are properly maintained
  • Introducing practical continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Establishing and monitoring factory KPIs and reporting performance to senior management
  • Supporting the recruitment, training and development of factory employees
  • Building a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, quality and continuous improvement
About You
  • Previous experience as a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or in a similar manufacturing leadership role
  • Proven experience managing and developing production teams
  • Strong production planning and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Quality-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience improving productivity, reducing waste and controlling costs
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good communication and people-management skills
  • Confident working with production KPIs and management information
  • Proactive and hands-on management style
Desirable Experience
  • Experience within a production, fabrication, assembly or similar manufacturing environment
  • Experience implementing continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Experience improving factory efficiency, productivity and workflow
  • Experience supporting recruitment, training and development within a production environment
