Oxford Playhouse is seeking a Utilities & Facilities Manager to join the Operations Department. You will oversee facilities and services across Oxford Playhouse and Burton Taylor Studio, ensuring reliability, safety and compliance while improving environmental impact.

Role focuses on buildings and general services; experience in theatre is not essential. You will manage a maintenance team and contractors, with flexibility to work outside performance times as required.

• Experience in facilities or building services, mechanical, electrical or plumbing.
• A working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.

• Proactive approach to identifying requirements and solutions.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and contractors.
• Diligent record-keeping and cost control.
• Commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
• Flexibility to work early, late or weekend hours.

Responsabilités

• Maintenance and repair of fixed plant and equipment, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical and seating.
• Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance programme with regular checks and audits.
• Ensure all statutory inspections and certifications are up to date and remedial works scheduled promptly.
• Programme and operate the Building Management System to control heating, cooling and ventilation efficiently.
• Monitor energy and utility usage and identify opportunities for savings.
• Participate in the Sustainability Committee and propose improvements.
• Manage health, safety and wellbeing of staff, contractors and colleagues, including risk assessment and safe systems of work.
