Job summary

Unite Students is seeking a Facilities Team Member at Huddersfield (Oldgate House) to maintain safe, welcoming living spaces for students. You will work with the Facilities Team Leader and residents to fix issues, respond to safety needs, and support a high-quality living environment.

The role emphasises attention to detail, a helpful attitude, and commitment to Unite Students values. Driving between sites is required, with hours 32.5 per week, 8am–8pm, five days out of seven.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving license is essential.
• Basic maintenance skills across joinery, plastering, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Experience in maintenance and customer-facing roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks to keep buildings safe and well-maintained.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance and respond to safety-related calls.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support residents with a positive attitude.
• Log issues using PDA apps and coordinate with engineers for remedial work.
