Job summary

Unite Students in Swindon is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to help create safe, welcoming and well‑maintained living spaces for our student community. You’ll resolve repair requests, support health and safety needs and work closely with residents and the Facilities Team Leader to keep homes in top condition.

The role is permanent, 37.5 hours a week (5 days out of 7), with a salary of £26,750 to £34,511 per annum plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK driver`s license and be comfortable travelling between sites.
• Basic technical maintenance skills including joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical changes.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Experience in general maintenance and customer-facing roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks to keep buildings safe and well‑maintained.
• Respond to health and safety needs and monitor for compliance.
• Deliver excellent customer service to students and colleagues.
• Log issues using digital tools and notify engineers of remedial work.
