Job summary

The City Chambers in Edinburgh is seeking a Facilities Technician to support janitorial and basic maintenance across our estate. You will help keep buildings safe and welcoming for staff, visitors and learners, with flexible hours and permanent employment.

You will undertake day-to-day FM tasks, cleaning, basic repairs, security checks and grounds care, with opportunities to progress to supervisory level. PVG checks may apply; commitment to training is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, janitorial and DIY tasks across buildings.
• Ability to perform day-to-day maintenance and basic repairs.
• Flexibility with hours and a willingness to work across different sites.
• Willingness to undergo PVG scheme checks where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings.
• Carry out repairs and general maintenance as needed.
• Manage security of premises and grounds.
• Provide cleaning/tidying and basic grounds maintenance.
• Support moves and general building services.
