We are seeking a professional and service-driven Facilities & Security Support Officer to support operations within a British Red Cross building.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining porter duties, cleaning, front of house services, security responsibilities and general building support. You will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, presentation and smooth day-to-day operation of the site.
As a visible presence within reception and communal areas, you will provide a professional welcome to staff, visitors, contractors and Red Cross training delegates, while maintaining access control and supporting security procedures. You will act as Fire Marshal for the building, respond to incidents where required, and ensure full adherence to safeguarding and health & safety standards.
You will work closely with the BRC Property team and Contract/Operations Manager to ensure building standards, compliance and client expectations are consistently met.
While primarily aligned to weekday operations, flexibility is essential. Occasional weekend or out-of-hours attendance may be required to ensure business continuity and operational support.
This is a client-facing, security-sensitive environment where professionalism, reliability and attention to detail are essential.
You are professional, approachable and take pride in maintaining high standards in everything you do.
You bring strong customer service skills and are confident engaging with a wide range of people in a respectful and welcoming manner. You understand the importance of safeguarding, compliance and maintaining a secure environment, and you conduct yourself with professionalism at all times.
You are proactive and solutions-focused, comfortable working independently, identifying issues before they escalade, and supporting the wider facilities team wherever needed. Whether resetting meeting rooms, supporting maintenance, managing access control or responding to an enquiry, you remain calm and composed under pressure.
Previous experience in facilities or security support is desirable. A valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) would be advantageous.
Above all, you are a dependable team player who understands the responsibility that comes with working in a professional, community-focused and security-sensitive environment.
