Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Newport site is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to lead a team of 12 shift technicians across 24/7 operations, ensuring safe, reliable plant performance.

You will own handovers, plan work, maintain records, and drive root-cause analyses for outages while supporting apprentice development and safety programs.

This role requires a recognised crafts qualification, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to compliance with PSSR, DSEAR/ATEX, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• Craft/technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled discipline.
• Experience supervising a shift-based maintenance or facilities team.
• Strong knowledge of safe systems of work and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach 12 technicians across rotating shifts to ensure coverage and morale.
• Own shift handover, actions, alarms, and plant status communications.
• Plan daily work including planned maintenance, reactive tasks, and project support.
• Ensure accurate maintenance records and regulatory documentation.
• Act as escalation point for plant faults and safety incidents.
• Support apprentice development and safety training.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
