Job summary

Evolve Talent Search Ltd in London is seeking a Shift Lead Building Services Engineer to manage a seven-to-seven continental shift on a permanent, full-time basis. You will supervise a shift team and ensure reliable operation of critical building services on a high-profile site.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, UPS, generators and LV systems, use BMS alarm data for fault diagnosis, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain Maximo records while upholding health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical building services environment, preferably critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, fault finding and BMS operation.
• Proven leadership skills to manage teams, subcontractors and priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift team in delivering planned and reactive maintenance to building services.
• Ensure HVAC, UPS, Generators, and LV systems operate optimally using BMS and alarm data for fault diagnosis.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on-site with safety and permits compliance.
• Maintain documentation in Maximo and ensure timely updates and task completions.
• Champion safe working practices and ensure method statements and risk assessments are followed.
• Keep plant rooms secure, clean, and ready with spare parts for rapid fault response.
• Lead on KPI/SLA delivery and ensure shift handovers meet standards.

Lead critical building operations and drive performance on a high-profile site. Are you an experienced engineer ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment? This role offers the opportunity to supervise a shift team and ensure the reliable operation of essential building services across a critical site. You'll be the go-to expert for maintaining key systems and managing reactive tasks efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a shift team in delivering planned and reactive maintenance to building services.
• Ensure optimal operation of HVAC, UPS, Generators, and LV systems, using BMS and alarm data for fault diagnosis.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on-site, ensuring safety and compliance with work permits and procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation through a computer-based maintenance system (e.g., Maximo), ensuring timely updates and completion of tasks.
• Champion safe working practices, ensuring method statements and risk assessments are followed at all times.
• Keep plant rooms secure, clean, and serviceable, with available spares and tools to respond quickly to system faults.
• Lead on the delivery of KPI/SLA targets and ensure reports and shift handovers meet required standards.
