Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking hardworking and reliable individuals to join the Facilities Team as Porters. The role covers a 24/365 service with duties including mail handling, patient transfers and movement of equipment, linen and waste.

Training is provided and a full UK driving licence (up to 3.5 tonnes) is essential. Shifts include early, late, night, weekends and bank holidays to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• Carrying out portering duties to support hospital operations.
• Providing good customer service and teamwork in a busy environment.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort, deliver and collect mail in the post room.
• Assist with patient transfers and movement of equipment and furniture.
• Handle linen, waste, medical records and pharmaceuticals as required.
