Job description

At Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, we’re committed to providing excellent environments that support our operational and training teams.

We're now recruiting a Facilities Operations Manager to take ownership of facilities operations across our two critical Flight Training Centres, located in Cheadle (South Manchester) and Bradford. The role can be based from either of these two sites, but will involve frequent travel from one to another.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on Facilities Management professional to take ownership of the day-to‑day facilities operation across both sites. Working within Flight Operations and alongside Property, Health & Safety and Engineering, you’ll ensure both buildings remain safe, compliant, well maintained and fully operational.

As the main point of contact for facilities across both sites, you’ll have the autonomy to identify issues, coordinate solutions and drive improvements. From building services and contractor performance to budgets and minor refurbishment projects, you’ll play a key role in maintaining high‑quality facilities that support Jet2’s business‑critical training operation.

What’s In It For You

  • Colleague discounts on Jet2holidays and Jet2.com flights

  • Generous Discretionary Profit Share Scheme

  • Contributory pension scheme

  • Fully expensed car provided for business travel

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as the main point of contact for all facilities and building‑related matters

  • Coordinating planned and reactive building maintenance and ensuring defects are resolved effectively

  • Managing external Facilities Management providers and specialist contractors

  • Monitoring service delivery against agreed KPIs and SLAs

  • Conducting regular building inspections and identifying maintenance and improvement requirements

  • Maintaining oversight of statutory building compliance, including inspections, testing, certification and associated records

  • Overseeing key compliance areas including fire safety, electrical and mechanical systems, water hygiene, building fabric and workplace safety

  • Undertaking appropriate minor maintenance and repair works where competent to do so

  • Managing facilities budgets, purchase orders and expenditure

  • Reviewing contractor quotations and identifying value‑for‑money solutions

  • Coordinating minor refurbishment and building improvement projects

  • Supporting operational continuity and communicating planned works and building issues to stakeholders

  • Working closely with Flight Operations, Property, Health & Safety, Engineering and Procurement colleagues

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in facilities management, building maintenance or site management, and a good working knowledge of building services and building fabric maintenance

  • Practical, hands‑on experience of general building maintenance and a good understanding of statutory compliance requirements within commercial buildings

  • Experience managing contractors, Facilities Management providers and specialist service partners, with responsibility for maintaining compliance records, certifications and maintenance documentation.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across two sites

  • Experience of budget monitoring and cost control

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between South Manchester and Bradford.

A recognised trade qualification in electrical, plumbing, joinery, building maintenance or a related discipline would be highly beneficial, as would IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate or IWFM qualification.

If you're an experienced facilities professional with strong building compliance knowledge and a practical, hands‑on approach, we'd love to hear from you.
