Job description

Job Title: Facilities Support Officer

At the leading edge of music and dance training, it provides specialist education of the highest quality, reflecting the increasingly collaborative world of artistic practice and supporting the lifelong career development of students and professional performing artists.

The successful candidate will provide proactive, responsive, and flexible support that enhances the Conservatoire's reputation and promotes the wellbeing of staff, students, and visitors. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Security of the buildings
  2. Handling post and general reactive/planned maintenance of external and internal buildings
  3. Periodic reception duties
  4. Setting up rooms and carrying out minor decorating work

Applicants must have a good level of fitness, with the ability to lift and carry equipment and furniture regularly (under controlled conditions). The candidate should be a team player with a 'can-do' attitude, motivated to succeed, and possess the necessary skills and determination to perform the duties effectively. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to lift, hold, and move heavy or awkward loads are essential.

Additionally, a working knowledge or aptitude for IT systems is required, including:

  • Outlook
  • Operation of the Access Control System
  • Basic use of the Building Management System (BMS) to adjust and report on room temperatures and maintenance tasks
