Job summary

South Thames College is seeking a practical and reliable Facilities Officer to help keep Wandsworth College well maintained and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

You will be responsible for portering, day-to-day maintenance and repairs including basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating, and you will record and track jobs through our helpdesk system while supporting visiting contractors and conducting regular building checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in carrying out practical maintenance tasks.
• Understanding of working safely in a facilities environment.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage own workload.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

Here at South Thames College, we are seeking a practical and reliable Facilities Officer to help keep Wandsworth College well maintained and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

You will be part of a supportive team that takes pride in maintaining great spaces for learning and working, ensuring the site runs smoothly. You will be responsible for portering, day-to-day maintenance and repairs which includes basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating as well as recording and tracking jobs through our helpdesk system. You will support visiting contractors and conduct regular building checks to spot and report any issues.

We would like you to have experience in carrying out a range of practical maintenance tasks and an understanding of the importance of working safely in a facilities environment. As an organised, proactive individual, you will be able to manage your own workload, work well with others and have good communicate skills.
