Senior Facilities Manager – PFI | Leading Infrastructure Asset Management Consultancy
Location: Exeter and Taunton area
Salary: £85,000 - £95,000

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a market-leading infrastructure asset management consultancy to appoint a Senior Facilities Manager to lead the operational performance and compliance across a portfolio of complex PFI projects. This is a senior-level role requiring a combination of commercial acumen, stakeholder leadership, and contractual expertise to ensure value-for-money outcomes and lifecycle compliance across infrastructure assets.
You will be responsible for managing a range of stakeholder relationships—from Project Company Boards and funders, to public sector bodies and FM providers—ensuring service delivery is aligned with both contractual obligations and long-term asset strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the performance management of Hard and Soft FM services across complex infrastructure assets
Manage PFI project agreements, ensuring full compliance with funding, contractual, and statutory obligations
Engage senior stakeholders including public sector clients, sub-contractors, and lenders to ensure operational alignment
Monitor performance regimes, ensure KPI compliance, and address underperformance issues proactively
Interpret and manage contractual/statutory documentation and risk obligations
Lead and support dispute resolution processes, minimising operational and financial impact
Implement and enhance systems for lifecycle planning, commercial monitoring, and compliance reporting
Provide technical and strategic advice on risk, variation, and value-for-money throughout asset lifecycle
Produce regular, high-quality reports to internal and external stakeholders on service performance and risk
Identify and follow up on business development opportunities within existing and new client relationships About You
You will be a proven FM or asset management professional with a deep understanding of PFI or other complex project structures. You’re commercially sharp, operationally astute, and confident working across inter-agency environments.
Essential Experience

Proven success managing complex PFI contracts or similar long-term project agreements
Strong understanding of PFI funding structures and stakeholder dynamics
Experience managing FM providers and enforcing performance monitoring regimes
Ability to interpret detailed contractual, legal, and statutory documentation
Skilled in dispute resolution, risk management, and compliance frameworks
Strategic thinker with a record of applying value-for-money principles across lifecycle spend
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills—able to engage at senior levels
Demonstrable leadership within multi-disciplinary or matrixed teams Skills & Attributes

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving in complex operational environments
Highly organised, deadline-driven, and systematic in approach
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—confident in presenting complex issues
Proficient in MS Office Suite and FM reporting systems
Professional, approachable, and collaborative leadership style Desirable

Degree or professional qualification in Facilities Management, Asset Management, or related discipline
