Job summary

Coventry City Council's Facilities Management team is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the Friargate district portfolio, including council workspace, commercial tenancies and hospitality outlets. You'll combine operational leadership with commercial and technical expertise to keep buildings safe, compliant and welcoming, while delivering value and protecting long-term asset performance.

From budgeting and service charge forecasting to coordinating fit-out projects and ensuring

Qualifications

• Experience managing service charges in accordance with the RICS Standard.
• Strong commercial property management experience across multi-tenant environments.
• Experience leading commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects within occupied buildings.
• Knowledge of building services, asset management and building pathology.
• Understanding of CDM health and safety requirements and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and day-to-day management of the Friargate portfolio.
• Manage annual service charge budgeting and forecasting, with transparent reconciliations.
• Coordinate tenant mobilisation and fit-out projects with occupiers and contractors.
• Ensure health and safety, building compliance and governance standards.
• Support decision-making on maintenance strategies and capital investments.
• Oversee contractor performance and value-for-money delivery.
