Salary: A GBP 37,938 - A GBP 40,476 pro rata.
The Council is committed to serving the people of the town by providing essential facilities and fostering community development and well-being for their residents. A key part of their services involves managing several important community facilities, including two large recreation parks of 14 and 15 hectares, two memorial parks, the town centre clock, a sports recreation ground, a bowls club, the local cemetery, and a network of public footpaths.
As part of their commitment to community well-being, they are seeking a proactive, highly organized, and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee and manage the Council's property portfolio, assets, and infrastructure. This is a key role with responsibilities spanning facilities management, health and safety, project delivery, and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include attending regular Council meetings to provide expert advice and guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, inspection regimes, and health and safety legislation. You will be tasked with maintaining the highest standards across all properties and public spaces by developing a detailed schedule of inspections, improvements, and repairs, ensuring all works are completed on time, within service level agreements, and within budget.
You will also represent the Council in discussions and negotiations with external bodies and suppliers. Additionally, you will support the Council's environmental responsibilities under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and the Well-being of Future Generations Act.
Applicants should have an appropriate professional qualification, with a commitment to continuous professional development. Proficient Office IT skills are essential. Attendance at regular evening meetings and occasional weekends may be required.
