Job summary

Nter Talent is partnering with an established business to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager who understands what it takes to keep a busy food distribution operation running safely, efficiently and without disruption.

Based in Welwyn Garden City, you’ll oversee a 120,000 sq ft distribution centre while providing facilities support and governance across additional UK operations, including a manufacturing site in Corwen.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Facilities Management within distribution, warehousing, manufacturing or FMCG operations.
• Strong experience working within food distribution or similarly demanding, operationally critical environments.
• Experience managing facilities across multiple sites.
• A solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, statutory compliance and building maintenance.
• Experience managing PPM programmes, external contractors and maintenance budgets.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse infrastructure and operational facilities.
• A practical, commercially aware approach with the ability to prioritise competing operational demands.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day‑to‑day facilities operations at a busy 120,000 sq ft distribution centre.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and statutory inspections.
• Ensure warehouse infrastructure, including racking, dock levellers, shutters and associated equipment, is maintained to high standards.
• Manage Health & Safety, fire safety and environmental compliance across operational facilities.
• Lead contractor management, supplier relationships, service agreements and facilities budgets.
• Support facilities operations and compliance at a manufacturing site in Corwen.
• Deliver facilities improvement projects, refurbishments and capital investment initiatives.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering and senior leadership to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Lead and develop a small facilities team.

Based primarily in Welwyn Garden City, you'll oversee a 120,000 sq ft distribution centre while providing facilities support and governance across additional UK operations, including a manufacturing site in Corwen.

The Opportunity

We're looking for someone who understands that facilities management in a food distribution environment is about much more than maintaining buildings.

It's about ensuring operational continuity, maintaining compliance, managing critical infrastructure and working closely with operational teams to keep products moving.

You’ll have the autonomy to improve standards, develop preventative maintenance strategies and influence how facilities are managed across the business.

What We’re Looking For

Experience within food distribution, food logistics or food manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

You’ll ideally have:
