Job summary

Sheffield Girls’ is seeking an experienced School Facilities Manager to lead the management and maintenance of the school estate in the Broomhill area of Sheffield. The role focuses on security, safety, efficiency and compliance to create a safe space for students and staff.

You will manage a team including the Operations Supervisor, Senior Facilities Officers, and drivers, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and facilities meet high standards for a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• IWFM Level 4 or equivalent is preferred or willingness to gain within 6 months.
• NEBOSH or IOSH health & safety training is desirable.
• First Aid Certificate is required.
• Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Awareness and Fire Warden certifications are desirable.
• Proven experience in premises management, preferably in education.
• Ability to lead collaboratively and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site security, premises and grounds management.
• Maintain plant and equipment and cleaning operations.
• Manage the school vehicle fleet and related logistics.
• Ensure health and safety compliance across the site.
• Support delivery of capital projects and renovations.
• Monitor contracts and service levels.

Sheffield Girls’ is looking to appoint an experienced Facilities Manager to take on a pivotal leadership role in a dynamic school environment.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled School Facilities Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our school estate located in the Broomhill area of Sheffield, ensuring it remains a safe, secure, and efficient space for our students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

As the School Facilities Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our site operations, ensuring our facilities are secure, well-maintained, and that they remain fully compliant with health and safety standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Site security, premises and grounds management
• Maintenance of plant and equipment
• Cleaning operations and enterprise activities
• The school vehicle fleet
• Health and safety compliance across the site
• Supporting the delivery of capital projects and renovations
• Contract Monitoring

You will lead a team that includes the Operations Supervisor, Senor Facilities Officers, and drivers, who in turn manage the day-to-day operations for the estate.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification in Facilities Management (e.g. IWFM Level 4 or equivalent), or a willingness to gain qualification within 6 months
• Health & Safety Training (e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH)
• First Aid Certificate
• Technical certifications such as Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Awareness and Fire Warden (desirable)
• Proven experience in premises management (preferably in an educational setting)
• Ability to work effectively both in collaboration with other professionals/teams and on own initiative
