Job summary

Sheffield Girls’ - GDST is seeking an experienced School Facilities Manager to lead site operations at the Broomhill campus in Sheffield. You will ensure facilities are secure, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards, while guiding a team of supervisors and drivers in day-to-day estate management.

You will oversee security, grounds, cleaning, plant maintenance, fleet management, and capital projects, driving continuous improvement and contract monitoring across the site.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Facilities Management (e.g. IWFM Level 4 or equivalent)
• Health & Safety Training such as NEBOSH or IOSH
• First Aid Certificate
• Legionella/Asbestos Awareness and Fire Warden (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Oversee site security, premises and grounds management
• Ensure maintenance of plant and equipment and oversee cleaning operations
• Manage the school vehicle fleet and related transport needs
• Maintain health and safety compliance across the site
• Support delivery of capital projects and renovations
• Monitor contracts and service level agreements across the facilities estate

Job description

Sheffield Girls’ is looking to appoint an experienced Facilities Manager to take on a pivotal leadership role in a dynamic school environment.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled School Facilities Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our school estate located in the Broomhill area of Sheffield, ensuring it remains a safe, secure, and efficient space for our students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

As the School Facilities Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our site operations, ensuring our facilities are secure, well-maintained, and that they remain fully compliant with health and safety standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Site security, premises and grounds management
• Maintenance of plant and equipment
• Cleaning operations and enterprise activities
• The school vehicle fleet
• Health and safety compliance across the site
• Supporting the delivery of capital projects and renovations
• Contract Monitoring

You will lead a team that includes the Operations Supervisor, Senor Facilities Officers, and drivers, who in turn manage the day-to-day operations for the estate.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification in Facilities Management (e.g. IWFM Level 4 or equivalent), or a willingness to gain qualification within 6 months
• Health & Safety Training (e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH)
• First Aid Certificate
• Technical certifications such as Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Awareness and Fire Warden (desirable)

Professional Experience/Competencies:

• Proven experience in premises management (preferably in an educational setting)
• Ability to work effectively both in collaboration with other professionals/teams and on own initiative
