NHS National Services Scotland seeks a highly motivated professional to lead the Facilities and Capital Planning Directorate. The role encompasses managing various services critical to patient care, requiring strong leadership, relevant experience, and a commitment to healthcare standards.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to join the Estates, Facilities & Capital Planning Directorate, reporting directly to the Head of Facilities at NHS Highland.
The successful candidate must possess excellent leadership skills, professionalism, and vision, with awareness of national policy and strategic direction. They will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout their employment.
The role involves overall responsibility for the following departments: catering, portering, security, domestic services, and laundry, supporting the delivery of quality patient care across the New Craig’s site. The candidate will be responsible for the operational, strategic, quality, and professional development of all functions.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 5 years managerial experience within an acute setting or a similar complex organization. A good understanding of all Facilities Service functions, budget management, and the importance of these in providing quality patient care is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the social and political context of healthcare provision, especially regarding food and nutrition standards in patient care. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams, is required.
