Job summary

Pragmatic Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (electrical bias) to uphold building services across our Durham site. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to requests, and help ensure safe, efficient operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The role involves working a Continental shift pattern, with responsibilities spanning HVAC, electrical, plumbing and safety-related tasks.

Qualifications

• Time-served with Level 2/3 Engineering or NVQ3/equivalent electrical/mechanical qualification.
• 18th Edition, Inspection and Testing and Forklift/MEWP Licence would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, monitoring and repairing building services.
• Electrical systems: LV switching, lighting, fire alarms, security, CCTV.
• Mechanical plant: HVAC, compressors, chillers, pumps.
• Gas, chemical, Ultra-Pure Water distribution systems and waste management.
• RAMS production and contractor supervision.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, spares and stock.
• Production support.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (ideally with electrical bias) who will be responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks to keep building facilities running smoothly and efficiently.

Based at our busy, state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Durham, Pragmatic Park, the successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager - Facilities Engineering, and will be a key part of the Facilities team, working on a Continental shift pattern.

Your duties will typically involve repairing and maintaining building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc); conducting preventative maintenance, responding to maintenance requests; identifying and resolving safety hazards; and keeping detailed records of maintenance activities.

We are looking for candidates with a 'team player' attitude - flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a valuable member of our Facilities and Operations teams, during a very exciting and busy period as we scale-up and move into high volume manufacturing. Please note, we are not able to offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position.

Qualifications and training

Candidates will ideally be time-served, with qualifications such as Level 2/3 Engineering, or NVQ 3/equivalent electrical/mechanical qualification.

Qualifications such as 18th Edition, Inspection and Testing and Forklift / MEWP Licence would be desirable.

• Planned maintenance and repair skills

• Understanding of schematics and manuals
• Breakdown response / troubleshooting experience
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and planning skills

DESIRABLE

• Building management systems knowledge
• Manufacturing experience in a sector such as Semiconductors, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals etc
• Working at heights
• FLT and MEWP experience
• Risk assessments and method statements
